'It's Not Just You'

Across each page, a photograph of my partner, transformed through horror-inspired make-up, remains present as a recurring visual anchor. Parts of his image are obscured, revealed, interrupted, and reframed by photographs that appear otherwise unrelated: fragments of places, objects, surfaces, gestures, and moments. The images do not form a conventional narrative. Instead, they are brought into relation through their proximity to a constant figure. As the surrounding photographs shift, so too does the way we encounter the image beneath them. The familiar becomes fragmented; the unrelated begins to resonate. The zine explores the act of gazing itself, and how meaning is produced through juxtaposition, repetition, concealment, and return, and how a recurring focus can alter the way disparate images are seen.
